Rivers did it.

Weezer (White Album) comes after Weezer’s nearly 20-year struggle to release something that lived up to their 90s glory. The entire album will please anyone who has been rooting for Weezer during the hard times.

The album is everything that the boys wanted to accomplish with records like Weezer (Red Album) and Everything Will Be Alright In The End. Weezer (White Album) is able to maintain the classic Weezer sound while being able to incorporate modern influences.

“(Girl We Got A) Good Thing” is arguably the best track on the album. This Christmas-y tune is able to literally incorporate Christmas bells and keep a rock song feel. Rivers pours his heart out about a good thing he has with a lucky lady. “King Of The World,” another highlight, is also about a girl, but Rivers also manages to talk about about all the things he would do should he be king of the world.

Weezer (White Album) should be able to give Weezer a well-deserved jump back into relevancy. Hopefully from now on people will recognize Rivers, instead of having to tell high schoolers that he was a rock star in the 90’s only for them to guess bands that anyone would have a hard time remembering.
