Indie rock lovers will have a lot to be happy about this Monday at Central Venue. Philadelphia’s own Alex G will be returning to Athens with the Columbus based band Yowler and Athens locals The Sunshine Bandits opening.

Come out to E. Carpenter street at 6:30 and bring your dancing shoes for The Sunshine Bandits, who will bring the effusive energy and alternative pop sensibilities that have made their shows at The Skull and Wolf Haus such a success. These sensibilities should translate very well to Central Venue’s quality sound system and acoustic space.

Collin Geddis, bassist and singer for the band, who has been to shows at the venue before, said, “I know the sound is going to be fantastic.”

It will be The Sunshine Bandits first time at the venue. “It’s very cool that we get to play at Central Venue,” said Geddis.

Next, Yowler will bring their dark and moody alternative guitar rumination to the stage. The band has been received well in Athens venues like the Bat Lounge and The Lodge, and the light of Athens dusk pouring through Central Venue’s wall of windows should be the perfect backdrop to the band’s reflective and powerful tunes.

Finally, Alex G will cap off the evening, making a welcome return to Athens. The group always stirs up excitement when in town, due to their quality songwriting and passionate performances.

Tickets are 10 dollars, and are available for pre-sale through Haffa’s Records.
