News: Faith Evans Planning Album With Biggie

R&B singer Faith Evans, who was married to The Notorious B.I.G. at the time of the canonized rapper’s murder, told HipHollywood Wednesday that she is about to start on a joint album centered around her late husband’s music.
She said the record is tentatively titled The King and I, and is inspired by Natalie Cole, daughter of Nat King Cole, who in 1991 released Unforgettable… With Love, a posthumous tribute to her father with covers and duets of the jazz legend’s existing work.
It is unclear whether Evans’ project will feature unreleased verses from Biggie. Evans said the music is “definitely unheard,” then added, “unheard music in the presentation of it.” This could mean anything from fresh Biggie material to simply chopped-up or remixed versions of known songs.
Evans estimated The King and I will be finished “probably in the next year.”
Evans has been one of the leading voices in keeping B.I.G. alive, most recently releasing a song called “Letter to B.I.G.” with Jadakiss, which appeared on the soundtrack to the 2009 biopic Notorious. Evans’ forthcoming record will be the first of new or rearranged Biggie pieces since the 2005 remix album Duets: The Final Chapter.
