News: Angels and Airwaves' POET to Launch as Graphic Novel Series
By Chris Reinbold, Contributor
Graphic Policy has reported that Angels and Airwaves’ POET is going to be published by Magnetic Press as a graphic novel series. POET will serve as a prequel to the band’s upcoming release The Dream Walker and will introduce fans to the universe created within the confines of the album. The series will follow protagonist Poet Anderson and his uncanny ability to lucid dream. The story was written by Angels and Airwaves leader Tom DeLonge along with Ben Kull, both of which worked on the acclaimed series Mission Hill and The Oblongs.
In addition to coinciding with the release of the new Angels and Airwaves album, DeLonge’s production company, To the Stars, has also produced a “feature-quality animated short film.” The film will premiere during the 2014 Toronto International ShortFilm Festival as an Official Selection. The animated short will be released to the public on December 9, along with Angels and Airwaves’ new album. The graphic novelization will be released in a three-issue set in spring 2015.
