News: Taylor Swift's Empty "Track 3" is a Hit

Strange things are happening with Apple products these days. According to Billboard, Canadian iTunes had a glitch incidentally releasing a song called “Track 3” from Taylor Swift’s fifth upcoming album 1989. The best part is that “Track 3” wasn’t an actual song. It was eight seconds of pure static noise that soared to Canadian iTunes number one spot. The eight seconds of nothingness beat out Swift’s two actual singles “Shake It Off” and “Out of the Woods.”
Only a couple things should be taken from this weird but also hilarious news. First, anything with Taylor Swift’s name on it will sell and sell in abundance. The music world has been shitting itself since Swift announced that 1989 will be her first official pop album, even though you’d have to be dead to not realize that this is where she’s been heading all along (did no one listen to Red?) Despite the large amount of skepticism, eight seconds of white noise soared to the number one spot because of her name and association with 1989. The haters will hate but Swift’s album will sell.
Second, Swift’s fans are either idiots or they have a great sense of humor, but overall they are extremely dedicated. They actually spent good, hard-earned money on eight seconds of static because they will support Swift in anything and literally nothing that she does. In the end, Taylor Swift is a musical, chart-topping powerhouse, who should totally release a noise album because it will obviously succeed.
