There's going to be two homecomings this week in Athens: OU's and The Ridges'. Ohio University's will be celebrating all that is green and white, featuring a parade, a king and queen to be crowned and the annual homecoming football game, all while welcoming alumni back to campus. The Ridges' show at Casa Nueva, though, will prove to be just as exciting, featuring Indigo Wild and Shivering Timbers as openers.

Since they're from Athens, The Ridges are ecstatic to back in their hometown. Speaking to their frontman, Victor Rasgaitis, he explained how the entire band is filled with emotion when coming back. “There's no way of expressing how it feels," he said, which is an apt sentiment considering how affectionate people get about OU.

Rasgaitis also proclaimed his excitement for seeing Athens crowds again. “We've had some of our most wild shows here, and that's something special,” he said.

He made clear that Indigo Wild is one of the best tourmates possible, calling them “an incredibly talented group of dudes who deserve any attention anyone will give them.” He also had a lot to say about Shivering Timbers, saying they are “a talented band from Akron who play very well as a trio.”

Talking about how the lineup comes together, Rasgaitis liked how “there's a cool progression, with [Shivering Timbers] being folk rock-y, and then Indigo Wild going into the indie rock spectrum, with [The Ridges] finally being more orchestral folk-rock, with some indie rock elements."

ACRN also spoke to him about their tour with ex-Of Montreal member Kishi Bashi. All the members are “huge fans” of the solo artist, who has “some of the best music coming out recently,” according to Rasgaitis. Their huge fandom turned into a real musical relationship, as Kishi Bashi's mangement contacted The Ridges for his recent tour, which was “an amazing ride through and through."

Being with Kishi Bashi has inspired Raigaitis and the rest of The Ridges for their new material, some of which they'll play at Casa Nueva on Saturday. He explained how “it's going to be a natural progression from our old stuff, and we've been in the long process of making a new record, as we've been playing a lot of live shows.” On what they're trying to make, he said, “There's a lot of ideas in development, but we're going to release what we want at the right time so that it'll come out quality.”

All this is going to come together for a hell of a time, so don't miss The Ridges with Indigo Wild and Shivering Timbers at Casa Nueva this Saturday.
